Launch of Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber’s Business Awards 2008
Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber’s inaugural Business Awards will be launched on 5 June at the Neptune Breakfast Club.
The Business Awards, which will incorporate the Lowestoft Town Management Partnership - the retail arm of Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber, have been designed to recognise and reward business success in the region.
George Swietlik, President of Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber, commented: "The Business Awards 2008 is a way of giving something back to those successful and proactive companies who, by helping themselves, are helping the growth of the local business community.
“We shall be looking to showcase the energy and optimism that we at the Chamber know is abundant in our area. The awards will provide us with a great opportunity to present the positive benefits of both living and working in such an industrious region.”
The Business Awards will culminate with a prestigious awards evening on 20 November at The Wherry Hotel, with some 200 guests expected to attend.
Linda Thornton, Chief Officer of Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber, commented:
“We are delighted that the Lowestoft Journal has agreed to be the headline sponsor of these awards, along with individual categories sponsored exclusively by our Patrons, which include Bob Blizzard MP. In addition, local radio station ‘The Beach’ will be sponsoring the Retail Awards.
“Helen McDermott has agreed to host the awards evening and we shall have some exciting local talent in the form of Kerry Kennedy, who is an outstanding singer and will keep the evening going with a swing.”
A website will also be launched in June to promote the awards. The site will include information on all of the Chamber Patrons as well as the criteria and full details for each award.
