Potters - Main Sponsors of the Chamber Awards 2010-2012

In keeping with the high standards that Potters sets through out its leisure businesses, we are delighted to sponsor the Potters Hospitality, Tourism and Customer Care Award for those who have made a significant contribution to their organization or had an impact on the local economy.  In this category we are looking for a person or business who demonstrate equally the same commitments, standards of hospitality, customer care, enthusiasm and inspirations to the tourism industry that Potters do.

V C Cooke - Environmental in Education Award

This award recognises both primary / secondary schools and Colleges within the awards area, who have demonstrated the educating and involvement in increasing the awareness of environmental issues within their place of learning. The V C Cooke - Environmental in Education Award ALSO recognises those who have made an outstanding contribution toward providing students and groups with environmental activities and programs throughout the academic year.

Peter Aldous MP Business Investment Award

In recognition of a new or existing business that has invested in Waveney creating local wealth for local people and improving the economic success of or Towns and villages.

Applicant business must demonstrate broad evidence in each of the following areas:

Chamber of Commerce - Business of the Year Award

This year continues to present a very unique situation as businesses have still to respond to the current economic situation; Innovation and creativity have been key for those businesses that have shown growth and remained profitable and we look forward to recognizing the efforts of those businesses and individuals that continue to make meaningful contributions to our economy," If your business can show outstanding business performance then please enter this category.

Judges will consider evidence of:

Excellence in Customer Service Award

The M.R.King & Sons award celebrates the effort and impact of excellent customer service on the customer and business. This award will be presented to a business or department that does an exceptional job for their clients old and new.

If you think your business or a department within your company goes that extra mile, then this category is for you.

The Excellence in Customer Service Award is to recognize any business that feels they do an exceptional job for their clients.

Lowestoft College Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award

An apprenticeship is not just rewarding for the apprentice but also for the employer themselves. It's important that our young people are trained for the future, and one way to do that is by getting on the job training, out in the 'real world' as it were.

Many of Britain's business leaders are urging employers to follow suit and take on apprentices. With an ageing workforce there is a real need to fill the skills gap and by taking on apprentices you don't just train them for their future / your company future, you are training them for THE future!

Family Business of the Year

New for the Chamber Awards 2011, we have introduced the Family Business of the Year Award. There are many homegrown businesses within our region that have gone from strength to strength and we wanted to recognise that.

This award will be presented to a local family business who show strong family values, the same ethos and beliefs on how things should be done, the stability of knowing that they may be building for future generations and that have shown commitment to the wider business community through employment opportunities.

The Britten Centre & Lowestoft Town Management Partnership - SHOP ASSISTANT OF THE YEAR AWARD and Store manager of the Year

One attribute that has always set us apart from the rest of the high street is the exceptional service that is offered to customers. Customer service is ingrained into the company culture from top to bottom.

Essex & Suffolk Water Community Enterprise Award

Lovewell Blake - Business Start up Award

The Business Start-Up Award will be won by a successful and outward looking new business that has established its position within the marketplace through a mixture of sound business techniques, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurialism.

The judges will be looking for evidence of success in the following broad areas:

Business Person of the Year Award

This year's Business Person of the Year Award is proudly sponsored by NWES.This award recognised a business person who has made an outstanding contribution to the business performance of their organisation.

The person will be someone who has the ability to inspire others and act as a role model, someone who has achieved their business goals and who has outstanding leadership and professional excellence.

International Trade Award

As the global economy becomes increasingly important this is the perfect category to show how you stand out in the International arena. This award is nominated to a local business who has successfully been able to extend their boundaries outside of the UK and to trade in the international market place.

Suffolk County Council - Suffolk Greenest County Award

People in Suffolk place a high value on the quality of life in the county. This award will recognise businesses that have an outstanding record for environmental performance and are promoting this across Suffolk and beyond." In recognition of an organisation with a defined environmental policy, showing evidence of a commitment to and achievement of sound environmental good practice and a recognisable attempt to reduce the company's carbon footprint.

Mayor's Lifetime Achievement Award

We are pleased to announce a brand new award for this year, the Mayor's Lifetime Achievement Award. Sponsored by Tod Sullivan, the Mayor of Lowestoft.

This award honours an individual who deserves to be recognised for their lifetime of unrelenting commitment, hardwork, talent and contributions to the success of their business they work / worked for.

 

 

 

Waveney Economic Partnership - Community Impact Award

This award will be presented to a business who has evidence of a positive impact on the commuity through projects such as environment, employment, education, who work with businesses and community organisations, who develop / get involved with community programmes / projects.

Product Innovation & Diversity Award

The Product Innovation & Diversity Award is another newly introduced catagory for 2011.

Awarded to a company who has a proven track record of delivering a quality product and service to it's customers whilst continuing to grow.

Waveney District Council Energy Award

Waveney District Council Economic Regeneration Department wishes to recognise a local business who is constantly seeking new ways to develop their business within the Energy Sector.

The Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber of Commerce and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce Energy Award category sponsored by Waveney District Council focuses on local regional businesses who are innovative within our local energy sector for our region.
