1st East - The Creative Lowestoft Business Investment Award

1st East is the urban regeneration company for Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth tasked with transforming the face and the future of the two towns by generating economic growth and creating jobs through coordinating public and private sector development in the brownfield and waterfront areas of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. 1st East's intervention area covers around 135ha, mainly of industrial land which could be developed and 26km of waterfront, prime for regeneration across the two towns.

The ambitious regeneration plans include creating new waterfront homes as well as providing commercial, industrial, retail and leisure space and providing public access to the waterfront. Our vision is, "Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth will become great places to live, work, study and visit, building on the unique opportunities of their east coast locations. At the heart of our vision is a determination to provide a supportive culture for business, and to develop a particular expertise in the environmental economy, on and offshore. The Creative Lowestoft Business Investment Award

In recognition of a new or existing business that has invested in Lowestoft creating local wealth for local people and improving the economic success in the Lowestoft Town area.

The judges will be looking for evidence of success in the following broad areas:

• Evidence of clear plans and policies for investment and growth of the business.
• Meets and exceeds planned targets for sales, revenue, profitability and growth.
• Planned and positive recruitment of people in the local area.
• Plans for long term investment in the future.
