  • Financial performance: Entries should provide up-to-date details of financial performance. The judges will be looking for evidence of an improvement in profitability as a result of a sound business plan.
  • Strategic planning and thinking: The business should demonstrate how clear and focused business planning and strategy has aided financial and trading performance.
  • Team building/building partnerships: Evidence that management has concentrated on building a winning team, to implement policy and achieve business objectives.
  • Leadership/overcoming problems: Entrants should demonstrate that strong leadership has focused activity within the business and that this has enabled difficult situations to be overcome.
  • Change management: To demonstrate that management has been flexible and pro-active in facing a change in unexpected circumstances.
