The SSDM award for Innovation through Technology

To stay in the forefront of the commercial graphics industry and to maintain its market leading position, SSDM has always conducted a policy of acquiring ‘state-of-the-art’ equipment for its pre-production and production operations. Modern technologies have brought faster and more efficient studio design and manufacturing processes enabling customers to be serviced more quickly with higher quality products.

SSDM is a great exponent of innovation, but not at ‘all costs’ – the environment must be protected at the same time. Whilst our work makes the world a brighter, safer and better informed place to live, we are careful that our manufacturing processes and materials are also similarly environmentally friendly. We wish to communicate this policy to others by sponsoring the ‘SSDM Award for Innovation Through Technology’ to encourage businesses to make positive forward thinking innovative decisions with the well-being of the environment also accommodated.

In recognition of a company in the Creative and Printing Industries sector that demonstrates innovation through the introduction of new technologies or the development of existing technologies in product or process development.

The judges will be looking for evidence of success in the following broad areas:

• Innovation through the implementation of new technology, resulting in increases sales, revenue and profitability.
• The development of an existing technology resulting in increased sales, revenue and profitability.
• Job creation as a result of innovation in technology.
• Sustainability and growth of innovative practices and processes.
• Evidence and examples of technology transfer.
• Incorporate environmental equipment within its operation or the use of innovative technology such as alternatively fuelled vehicles, energy efficient equipment, green energy and water saving initiatives.
• Provide us with evidence of your environmental credentials.
