A Chamber member since 1994. Gwen has been Principal of Lowestoft College since March 2002 having previously worked in Further Education for over 30 years in the Midlands and South Wales. Gwen is a maths graduate and taught maths and computing from basic numeracy to undergraduate level. This background leads her to the firm view that FE is For Everyone and that the way to embrace allcomers is through partnership working. She puts this into practice through her work chairing the Local Strategic Partnership, Waveney Community Learning Partnership, the Waveney Employers Forum, and the Suffolk Skills for Life Strategic Group. She is also an active member of the Lowestoft 14-19 Partnership, the Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber of Commerce, and the Waveney Economic Partnership. She has also recently joined the Mathematics Principals’ Group, which seeks to advise the DfES senior Maths advisor on FE issues.
