Did you know that East of England companies could secure up to 5-10% of the £3.8 billion that's going to be generated from business opportunities around the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games?
That's something between £190 million and £380 million that's up for grabs.
The challenge however is ensuring that businesses in the East of England are aware of this opportunity. Businesses must sign-up to the London 2012 business e-alerts if they are to be part of the action. It's easy to do, just log onto http://www.london2012.com/business

The presentation that Morag gave is a very large file. If you would like to call at the office, you can download it and take it away to view at your leisure.

"I am keen to ensure that businesses in Waveney are aware of opportunities available as a result of the successful London 2012 Olympic bid, and to be in the best position to take advantage of them.
We will also have the opportunity to find out more about the ambitions and proposed development of two of our local sports clubs.
My special guest speakers will be
Morag Stuart, Olympic Delivery Authority – London 2012
Morag is Head of Procurement at the Olympic Delivery Authority, responsible for the procurement of the venues, transport and infrastructure for the games and legacy.
London 2012 expects to have around 7,000 direct contracts which, together with its suppliers, will form supply chains of around 75,000 opportunities.
It’s fantastic to see that of some 500 contracts (worth over £1 billion) already awarded, 98 per cent have gone to British companies, with over half won by mostly small- and medium- sized companies based outside of London. This really highlights how the Games can benefit everyone throughout the UK. I want to see Waveney take advantage of these opportunities.
• Geoff Price, Chairman: Lowestoft Town Football Club - will tell us about the club’s plans to achieve competitive success.
• Dick Smith, Vice President: Lowestoft & Yarmouth Rugby Union Football Club - will tell us about the club’s ground redevelopment plan.
• John Pawsey of Waveney Gymnastics Club talked about their current bid for inclusion in to the 2012 Olympics
