ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14 

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A146 BECCLES BYPASS, BECCLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A146 Beccles Bypass, Beccles at the level crossing to enable a level crossing MOT. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be:

Westbound traffic - U1473 Lowestoft Road, C969 Ingate, A145 Blyburgate, U1738 Smallgate, A145 Station Road and George Westwood Way.

Eastbound traffic – A145 George Westwood Way, Station Road, Newgate, Blyburgate, C969 Ingate and U1473 Lowestoft Road.

It is intended that the closure will operate 11 February 2012 to 12 February 2012 between 11pm and 9am, but if necessary the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sharon Denton at Centurion Site Services, Tel: 01924 372957.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1621 COX’S LANE, REYDON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1621 Cox’s Lane, Reydon from Princess Road to Lowestoft Road to enable new electrical connection. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be U1621 Covert Road and B1127 Lowestoft Road.

It is intended that the closure will operate 6 February 2012 to 10 February 2012, but if necessary the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1437 CHURCH ROAD, KESSINGLAND

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1437 Church Road, Kessingland between U1601 Lloyds Avenue and The Sailors Home Public House to enable carriageway resurfacing. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no suitable alternative route.

It is intended that the closure will operate 6 February 2012 to 10 February 2012 daily between 9.30am and 4.30pm, but if necessary the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1429 LOW ROAD, BECCLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1429 Low Road, Shipmeadow, outside The Cottage, Beccles between to enable works to a Water Connection. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be B1062 and U1415 Tallents Row

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF BRIDLEWAY 12, OULTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Bridleway 12, Oulton at Fisher Row Level Crossing to enable essential works. No alternative route is available. It is intended that the closure will operate 1 February 2012 to 2 February 2012 between 11.30pm and 6.30am, but if necessary the order may remain in force for six months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U1320 THE STREET, U1304 LOW ROAD, U1305 MOLLS LANE AND C940 STATION ROAD, BRAMPTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the:

U1320 The Street, Brampton

  1. U1304 Low Road, Brampton
  2. U1305 Molls Lane, Brampton
  3. C940 Station Road, Brampton

The closures will enable highway maintenance. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

U1305 Molls Lane, C940 Station Road, A145 London Road

  1. U1330 Locks Road, C940 Station Road, U1305 Molls Lane
  2. C940 Station Road, A145 London Road, U1320 The Street
  3. A145 London Road, U1320 The Street, U1304 Low Road, U1330 Locks Road

It is intended that the closures will operate between 30 January 2012 and 14 February 2012 with each closure taking place one at a time in the order shown above, but if necessary the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C942 LOWER COMMON, WESTHALL

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C942 Lower Common at the Railway Bridge, Westhall to enable a structural examination. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.The diversion route will be U1309 Hares Lane, U1307 Wangford Road, C961 Butts Road and vice versa. It is intended that the closure will operate 1 February 2012 from 09.30 until 15.30, but if necessary the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (EASTERN WAY, ESSEX ROAD, NORFOLK STREET AND ROTTERDAM ROAD, LOWESTOFT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, ON-STREET PARKING PLACE AND REVOCATION) ORDER 201-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order for Lowestoft under Sections 1, 2 4, 32 and 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will introduce the following measures:

Essex Road:         ‘No waiting at any time’ on the south side for its entire length and on the north side for short lengths either side of the entrances to the rear access roads.

                              The current ‘no waiting 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. Monday - Friday’ on the north side will be removed to provide daytime parking.

Norfolk Street:      ‘No waiting at any time’ on the south side either side of its entrance to the rear access road. The daytime loading restrictions at the junction with Rotterdam Road will be removed.

Rotterdam Road: ‘No waiting at any time’ on the south east side for 36 metres south west from its junction with Hill Road and across its junction with Fillisters Mews; and on the north west side for 48 metres south west from its junction with Hill Road. 

                              A loading/ unloading bay 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. daily on the east side outside the shop at Nos. 30/32 (replacing the 30-minute limited waiting bay).

Norwich Road:      Daytime loading restrictions at the junction with Rotterdam Road will be removed.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as may be necessary for a passenger to board or alight; for loading and unloading; for building, industrial or demolition works; for the maintenance of the road or services therein; and for certain other purposes specified in the order. There are also the usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles.

A copy of the draft order and a map showing the lengths of road affected, together with the Council’s reasons for these proposals, may be inspected at my office, 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. Monday - Friday; also at Lowestoft Library, Clapham Road South, 9.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. Monday; 9.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m. Tuesday; 9.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. Wednesday; 9.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m. Thursday; 9.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. Friday; 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. Saturday and 10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. Sunday.

Objections and other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must be in writing and must reach Heather Miller (Legal Services) at the address below or at heather.miller@suffolk.gov.uk by 18 November 2011.  Please bear in mind that any such correspondence cannot be regarded as confidential and may be inspected by any interested party
